Is your white T-shirt no longer brilliant white, but perfectly in style? Is your white blouse getting on a bit, but you can’t bear to part with it? And would that top still look pretty for layering? Upcycling is the magic word! And it’s right on trend, because more and more people are giving old favourites a new look.
We’ve used simplicol Fabric Dye intensive in Celestial Blue, Pastel Green, Orchid Purple, and Magnolia Pink for the blouses, T-shirts, and tops in this guide. Simply use the dyes in the washing machine.
T-shirts in delicate summer colours
The trendy delicate shades for your summer outfit are simply adorable. Whether you’re in the ice-cream parlour, on the beach, or strolling through town—pastel colours are the perfect accompaniment to spring and summer. Pastel shades can be combined in endless ways and go just as well with strong colours as with plain white or grey.
You will need:
White blouses, T-shirts, or tops made of cotton, viscose, linen, or blends. The content of other fibres (e.g. wool, silk, and synthetic fibres) must not exceed 50 per cent. The resulting colour shade is lighter when used on blends.

How it’s done
Pre-wash the textiles once without fabric softener or hygienic laundry rinse.
Now dye the clean laundry in your chosen colour in the washing machine at 40°C, following the instructions for use.
Simply add the bottle and sachet from the package directly to the drum.
Rewash the textiles afterwards.
Our tip: To get a very delicate shade, simply dye more fabric than the amount stated for the full shade.
