Give your ideas fresh colour!
Love colour, live more colourfully – it’s easy with simplicol textile dye expert for use in the bowl, pot or washing machine.
The textile dye is suitable for cotton, viscose, linen and mixed fabrics as well as silk and wool (excludes mohair, cashmere, angora, merino). The textile dye is used at 60°C.
Application in the washing machine
Loosely place the clean fabric in the washing machine or top loader. Then open the bag and place it directly on the textiles in the drum. We also recommend adding fixative to the fabric softener compartment. After closing the washing machine, start the washing programme 60°C easy-care without prewash. IMPORTANT: For silk only, add 750 ml vinegar to the detergent compartment. When the dyeing programme has run through, remove the bag. Then wash the dyed textiles in the machine at a maximum of 40°C in the delicate wash programme with mild detergent.
The dyed textiles can then be washed in the future at a maximum of 40°C in the delicate wash programme only together with garments and fabrics of similar colours.
Application in the bowl
Put six litres of 60°C water in a plastic bowl or bucket. This is equivalent to four litres of boiling water and two litres of cold water. Put on rubber gloves and dissolve the entire contents of the bag in the water. IMPORTANT: For silk only, add an additional 300 ml of vinegar. Immerse the clean fabric well in the dye bath and dye for one hour while stirring. Then wash the fabric at a maximum of 40°C with mild detergent.
Application in the bowl
Put on rubber gloves. Then fill a large saucepan with six litres of lukewarm water and dissolve the entire contents of the bag of textile dye expert in the water. Add an additional 300 ml of vinegar. Immerse the clean fabric in the pot. Heat the dye bath on a medium heat setting, stirring gently, until the fabric begins to take on the colour. A canning thermometer is practical here: It must read at least 60°C.
Try to maintain the temperature and continue dyeing for about an hour. Stir gently more often so that the colouring becomes even.
Then remove the pot from the cooker and let it cool down, stirring occasionally. When the dye bath is only lukewarm, carefully rinse the textiles warm. Later, always wash separately at a maximum of 40°.
